HINTS AND TIPS

I think we should have a forum on hints and tips for things such as cooking and cleaning, and general maintenance of things around the house or with a car.
For example:
How to clean windows and mirrors, use metholated spirits as this doesnt leave streaks.
How to top up battery fluid, or change a tyre
How to change a washer on a tap.
I think there are many general maintenance tips we can give each other that may help those that lack the knoweledge themselves and may save us the expense of paying someone to do it for us, make things a little easier and lessen time and expenses.

Ok everyone this was such a good idea, that we went ahead with it and now you will find the Hints & Tips forum as a sub-forum in the general discussion. I hope to start seeing lots of those hints ... I am a single guy and I can use all the help I can get!

Umm ... you want help with what exactly male? You have to give us a problem first, because telling you that toothpaste is a great product to clean your sink (and a lot of other stuff other than teeth) may not be what you want to hear.

Greasy stains messing up your synthetic blend shirt?

First, put down the hamburger... next- use Dawn Dishwashing liquid soap.. gotta be Dawn in my opinion. Just a dab, rub it in, and toss it into the hamper for laundry day.
SoftSoap works best on Blood stains. (Note to self, quit causing so much bloodshed, and I wont need this tip!) Dab of soft soap directly onto blood stain, gently scrub under cool water. Air dry, toss into hamper for laundry day.
By leaving these items in the hamper, it gives those chemicals more time to work away at those stains! Don't wash right away if you can help it.
Grass Stains, SHOUT IT OUT. No, seriously, shout at those messy kids- the stains will stop appearing.
