Another Quick One

Was it his body that was an inch shorter or him as in his body + clothing/shoes?
he was an inch shorter Kay not his clothes

something to do with his shoes, and some kind of weird sole, which he wore down, maybe cos he ran alot, or the soul was just a lil degradable

Did he go to a planet where gravity is higher than ours so his bodyweight increased hence made his spine shorter?
He had been flying in a jet and pulled a lot of G's (yep, those make you shorter too)?
