Ben Stiller: Early Role Spawned 'Tropic Thunder'
It's a movie about a movie. Actor and director Ben Stiller says he first had the idea for the war-movie parody Tropic Thunder when he had a small role as a prisoner of war in 1987. But Thunder — in which actors filming in Southeast Asia get caught up in a real war with drug smugglers — has stirred up controversy.
