Windows Mobile 6 has been officially announced, released and of course covered before on Neowin's front page. Regardless of this "small detail", I'd like to finish off with a third posting that wraps everything up with a bunch of quotes and links. So, without further ado, here we go: Scores of additional mobile operators and device makers from around the globe, including Cingular Wireless, now the new AT&T, Chunghwa Telecom, Dopod International Corp., HP, LG Electronics, Motorola Inc., Palm Inc., Samsung, Sprint, Telefónica, Toshiba, Verizon Wireless and Vodafone, plan to ship Windows Mobile 6-based devices this year. Many of these partners are expanding large existing portfolios of Windows Mobile powered smartphones.

According to Lokeui, all beta testers should take note that the Windows Mobile 6 RTM build has undergone many speed tweaks: "From switching windows, going through long lists like contacts and mail, navigating web pages, going back and forth etc. At least 20-30% faster IMHO." Lokeui also wanted to clarify the name for the latest version of Microsoft's Mobile OS. It's either Windows Mobile 6 or WM6 (incidentally, "Windows Embedded CE 6.0" is the official name for the latest version of Windows CE), not:

• Windows Mobile 6.0
• Windows Mobile 6.x
• Windows Mobile Six
• Pocket PC 6
• Smartphone 6
• Microsoft Phone 6
• Windows CE 6
