I know he was just a singer, a ordinary man, but there is no other artist than can touch the millions like Elvis can. He was americas singer, our biggest icon thats for sure, with a soulful way of singing and a voice so smooth and pure. He had alot of talent, he could sing anything. Very deserving of his title, known by millions as the king. He rocked us in the fifties with his little three piece band. After the release of Heartbrek Hotel, our boy was in demand. TV came calling, he was well on his way. Ed said from the waist up only, and he never forgot that day. Now it was time for the movies, and the critics werent cuite sure, but that didnt matter, the fans just wanted more. By 57 he was a major star, what next was he to do? Like the famous postor says Uncle Sam Wants You. He completed his duties in Europe and now hes back home at last. Its time to rock-n-roll again just like he did in the past. The Timex special with Sinatra showed his fans were still there, but some things were differant, even his new pompadore hair. His sideburns were gone. A new mature Elvis we would discover. The next few years were much the same, one movie after another. Performing live is were his passion really flow. It was time for a comeback, time to do a live show. The year was 68 the sites and sounds of music were differant and new, it was time for the boy from Tupilo to do what he was born to do. Next he rocked em dead in Vegas, man he really let go. He followed that up with two big hits, Suspicious Minds and Ghetto. He finished up the movies with On Tour and The Way It Is. Until the end, that incredeble voice was always his. He left us in 77 but only physically thats for sure. There are millions and millions of fans today still crying out for more. If you dont get it or dont understand, well that sounds like a personal problem, like it or not he is still the man. You can praise your rap and metal about bitches, hoes and hate, but its music talent and passion that make a true artist great. Elvis had it all, he could sing everything, thats why today he is still on the throan and forever holds the title of THE KING.
