Hey,
Having you gall bladder out isn't terrible. I can tell you in 2 ways- 1 I experienced the pain and suffering of having gall stones, and having it removed. 2-I am a medical assistant. My gall bladder problems showed up after I had my son, at the age of 18. I had it removed when my son was probably 3 months or so, they wanted to do it right away, but I opted to wait, and now I wish i didnt because I was on such a bland diet, and pain was terrible. When I had the surgery, It was quick, and for the most part pain free. It is unbelievable on how you feel afterwards, it is true some people may have to watch how much grease they eat, like I do. but it is so much easier then pain. They took me in and put me under, it wasnt to bad, it was my first time in surgery, and I already had emotional problems since having my baby (postpartum-depression) so it was scarey. but I dont remember a thing from the surgery, I was in and out quickly, and slept alot the rest of the day because of the medication, but I didnt need pain pills or anything afterwards, and the incisions are so small, i can barely see them, and it has been less than 3 years. if you need to talk let me know! best of luck hun!

Hey, I know it is scary to have your gall bladder out, but you know it's not to bad. I had gall-bladder problems a few years ago, and had to have mine taken out. When I had mine out it was within 3 months of my son being born, so it was hard with my emotions going crazy, and it being my first surgery. But when I had it I dont remember anything- I was under the "sleeping" medication, and dont remember much of the rest of the day. It was outpatient, so i went in and went out, so no staying in the uncomfortable hospital. The day after I didnt need pain medication at all, and the incisions were so small to this day it is not really noticable, and I feel so much better, I was completely back to normal after only a day or two. I still need to watch my grease intake because your gall-bladder helps absorbs it, but other than that it is alright. It's not extremely painful. If you want to you can write me if you wanna talk, i know how it feels.
Talk to you later,
Jamie5204
