scared to death

I had the crap scared out of me today.We were at my mom in laws for a cookout and we had just eaten and my son wanted some watermelon,i gave him som and he was sitting at the table eating and the next thing i know he is choking.i was so scared
then after he was better i went outside and cried ,because i was disappointed in myself
I am certified cpr and i freaked i should have known what to do

its ok thats what normally happenes you freak for a sec then you react the same thing happened with me when my great grandma had a stroke i freaked then i realized call 911

dont beat yourself up over it,same thing happened to me when my son was choking,2 seconds of panic and then jumping into action to avert a very nasty out come

I'm happy your little one is ok! Like they said above, try not to beat yourself up over it. Something happening in theory, or to a stranger is nothing like it happening to a loved one.. especially our children. Recently I was feeding my son and he got a mouthful of bottle and choked on it for a second. I of course sat him up and he was ok, but for that one moment that I looked at his face I was frozen with fear. Kids... the bringers of countless smiles.. and grey hairs. LOL

dont worry yourself about it. it is quite a natural thing for us humans to do " worry and panic, but at the end of the day your perenting skills will kick in and take over. i have been in some situations myself but not in a perental situation
