In light of the situation I'd say honesty was the best bet. Saying how sorry you are and that you've learned not to loan out anything could go a long way in regaining trust.
Have you tried talking to your dad about this since he was a young man once too, he may understand that you never thought loaning it out would result in this mess? He may talk to your aunt for you. If not, try talkin to Mom. If that doesn't do any good, try explaining to your aunt what really happened. Granted she may still be angry but if you apologize for hurting her feelings, perhaps she'll chill some by Christmas and cut you some slack. Most adults remember being young once and wanting do to make a good impression on the others. Bet they've done some dumb things in their lives too. Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.

Grammy is so right here bud go to your Aunt and explain what happened truthfully she may have thought you were clumsy with her present
I also feel like Grammy you should say you have learnt your lesson and ask her *will I ever understand females* |

I'm agree with all!
Sometimes it seems very difficult to do, but serious and honest conversation can save the situation! Don't be afraid of it, just try! Then your parents and aunt can start to understand that you are responsible and already not a baby...

I did the same thing once in highschool. I got a coat I'd wanted for a long time, and let a boy borrow it for one class period. Never saw it again. I did tell my Mom what had happened though. Never got another one, but sure learned my lesson about lending out my things.

As a parent, I would rather have the truth than to see my children run away and waste their life and future over ... an iPod. So as a parent, I think that "leave the house" is the worst thing that can happen and also the most dangerous one.
I agree with all the others though. |
