One of my friends at school, Clare, had bulimia, and unfortunately she hid it very well. I wish we had paid more attention to her, and helped her through it, but she kept insisting nothing was wrong.

She died at Christmas in 2003 from heart failure, all from her quest to be thin and popular at high school. She had gotten to a weight of 30kgs and had lost all her hair.

Whenever I see or hear stores about eating disorders, it reminds me of Clare and the quiet struggle she went through.

Sometimes forcing a person who is suffering this disease into rehabilitation is the best place to start. Encourage them to eat to save themselves, before it's too late.
