my dog bit me:(
My shih tzu dog who is a little bit over a yr old bit me last month, had to see a plastic surgeon and got stitched up....he bit me on the upper lip and below the nose...the reason he bit me was that he found a chicken bone in the apt complex where I live and he didn't want to get rid of it, but he eventually did cause he was gasping for air and growling at the same time..he threw it up but he was still choking so I picked him up still holding onto the leash and the look in his eyes didn't look too happy....either was scared or angry....bit me pretty hard
Been going back to the plastic surgeon every three weeks and just got a steroid shot too last Friday...hurt when he poked me...ouch!! I still have the dog... |

Good call Grammy.
I had a dachsund when I was in elementary school who also found a chicken bone one day, and as I came up to him to tell him to drop it, he lunged at me, showing teeth. I think (although he'd NEVER tried to bite me before.. or after) that if I'd continued to try to get him away from that chicken, he would have bit me. I kept my dog also. He's a dog and it was food that he'd found.. or as I'm sure he saw it.. "hunted". He did bite another person after that though... a girl who was putting her face in his face and telling him he was an ugly dog. Kept him after that too. As I saw it, she provoked him. He passed away not long after that, so I can't say if he would have become a biter... but I DO know that little dogs are FAR more prone to biteing... even the hand that feeds and loves them. Look into some obedience books or training. One year old is still young enough to fix that behavior.
