BRIGHTER DAYS AHEAD


Just when things start to brighten up,
A cloud of darkness rolls back in to take away the light.
Trying so hard to see the light at the end of all this,
Not even sure if there is a better side to all of that is going on.
The more life slams seems to keep slamming down,
More and more thoughts of just letting it all go.
Knowing deep down inside that it will solve nothing,
Struggling to keep the thoughts at bay.
So much is going on with life,
Which way is up, which way is down?
These are things to which there is no answer right now,
Holding it all inside trying to deal with it all.
Wondering when this struggle will end,
Keeping in mind that the end is always out of reach.
At least that is the way it is starting to feel,
This is what the cloud of darkness does, takes away all hope.
One day soon the light will return,
That thought brings the hope of better days ahead.
Everything has become overwhelming,
Too much is happening way too fast, the grip loosening.
Not knowing what the future holds,
Heading into the darkness with the hope of light.
Walking down the road of life feeling alone,
People holding out their arms to offer comfort along the way.
