hi there,
is the software and drivers for the router loaded into your p.c's?. if they are check in the device manager to ensure they are functioning correctly, if there is a problem with the device it will show a symbol next to the router, either an exclemation mark or a red cross. if the device is working properly you could also try updating the driver. if this does not work you can roll back to the previous version of the driver, if these steps do not resolve the problem remove the software and driver and start the installation all over again

Ok with the laptop, are you able to connect to the router itself? (not so much the net, but the Router's WAP (Wireless Access Point)? Is there an encryption key setup on the router? If so, you'll need to know that key in order to connect. With the desktop machine, how are you connected? USB, Ethernet, Wireless? If USB, you'll need to be sure that you have the proper drivers for that router's specific firmware version installed. If wireless, much like the laptop, you'll need to have your connection setup to broadcast the proper encryption key. You may also want to check and see if your computer (desktop) supports the wireless protocol the router uses (E.G. Wireless G / Wireless B). Beyond that, I'm afraid I can't be of much more help.

router help solution?

Ok so at work last night one of the brief convo's that went around was about computers...So I spoke up about my issue with the router...being that it isnt wireless I was advised that i not only need the ethernet cord to go from the modem to the router...but also need one to go from my tower to the router...does this sound right to you?
