The CiD: usually it's a software that gets installed together with another program. You should be able to get rid of it this way: Go to Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - then look for a program in the list called "CiD help". By simply removing that, the problem should be solved.
The mouse: do you have the Synaptics TouchPad? Go to Control Panel again, then Mouse. Select "Device Settings" and click "Settings" again. Here you can adapt all settings (e.g. sensitivity). The problem you mentioned has happened to me several times, always due to the installation of new software and I always have to play with all the touchpad settings afterwards. Good luck! |

Running a "cleaning" program (can't put up a name here I guess?) is what gets all bugs away on my computer. When I had the cleaner analyze my computer (cookies, ...) it showed cookies mentioning CiD, so I removed everything. That and the Pop-Up blocker seem to work for me, though the CiD pop-ups never came up.
Removing the CiD in the programs list helps for most people, except when it has installed itself somewhere else like in our case apparently. It is often added while getting the extra Messenger features Stacy. Did you accept the advertising they suggested during the installation process? If so, disable it and run everything again. That might explain why it is on your list. I disabled it during installation and the only thing I have in my list is "Messenger Plus! Live" without the "& Support...". If you uninstall, you'll have to install the whole fancy thing again (though that may be the most radical yet most effective solution). Oh, btw, in forums they suggest to remove cidaemon, etc ..: umm ... don't! And all the so called solution-links they put up: I wouln't download those applications (still wonder how people can have fun sabotaging someone else's computer) |
