My girl dont act up really, but on the odd occasion she trys to, all i do is count to 1 - 2 - 3 then she stops whatever shes doing, cos she knows once it gets to 3 theres punishiment. Luckily for me, shes never waited till it gets to 3 cos i have no idea what i would do lol i just use the thought that something will happen at 3 and with her only being 3 yrs old, its enough!

well depends on their age and what they are doing to act up! My kids act out a lot. Some times it is because of a stressful or new environment. It can also be a little change. You can try a numberous of things. Like you can try time outs, spankings, standing at the wall, or just trying to talk to them!

This is something I am struggling with some my self. From the sounds of it my kids are older then you guys kids right now, so I think it is a lil different for me. My youngest is 11 although she is mentally about 9, so usually I try to keep things pretty simple for her. She has her chores and responsabilities, and if she acts out I first try to talk to her if its something non repetitive. If it is repetitive, or it becomes repetitive, then she will get a time out, have to stand in the corner, and on the rare occasion gets a spankin. It mostly depends on what it is that she is doing and the environment that is going on.
My oldest is 14, wow 14. In some ways this is easier then others cause I can take things away from her, like the computer, sometimes its easy to talk about what is going on and why she is doing somethings and come to a compramise(sorry for spelling). In other ways its alot harder cause being a teenageris hard enough but only having one parent I'm sure is like hell on earth for her at times. I think that I have a pretty good relationship with both my daughters and I have been told many of times that they are wonderful and responsible young ladies( of course from people who don't deal with the tantrums, but thats ok). I was told once that it is a sign of a good parent when your kids are more respectful outside the house. Well if that is the case then I guess I have done all I can do. I hope this helps in some way.
