Do I get some cheese to go with my whine?

Most of the members who are staff here make being staff look easy, and fun. Well, most of the time it is...but then there are those other times 
Like the chatroom for instance:
Sometimes I go in and everyone just up and leaves within 60 seconds...hmm, coincidence or avoiding me or avoiding gettin caught doin no nos? No way to really know but if I was the insecure type about who I am, I'd get the heebie geebies and cry alot lol.
Sometimes I go in and everyone is friendly until they find out I'm a mod. Then they get smack mouthed about being watched like I'm where I don't belong. Hey, I was a plain ole member before I became a mod, so I do like this place and what it offers.
Then there are other times when several conversations seem to be going ok, but I hafta warn someone about language, or being mean to another member, or posting a link or their email addresses, or not speaking english, or depressing/upsetting everyone in the room by doin the drama/emo thang (excessive whining or argueing, etc) and...yup, you guessed it, they either have someplace to go, start with the smack talk, or stop talkin.
I really don't like fussin at anyone. Who would, except some control freak which I'm not. Especially since I have a foul mouth myself (as some are fully aware). I also have quite the temper and am completely capable of "goin off on" whoever in terms both PG13 and not at all PG13. I wasn't born a grandmother for petes sake.
...I often wonder why, since even I can comply with the rules here, why can't everyone else do the same? It only takes a little respect for yourself, the people, or this site and the atmosphere it tries to provide. It's pure common sense to know where it IS or IS NOT appropriate to "let loose". I mean, cmon, no one was ordered here. This isn't some punishment. We agreed to the rules when we all signed up and we sure don't have to stay if we can't take being civil or don't like it.
There are oodles of nasty chat sites with no or few rules, loaded with porn bots and rude, foul mouthed, and just plain mean people if thats what someone really wants.
Just doesn't fly here. Which is why I'd think we were here and not there.

Ah, but then there are the other times when I drop into chat and find a couple or a whole buncha great people who are friendly to everyone, helpful to new folks, who joke around and get along and even quote rules in a kind manner so I don't have to. Makes it all SOO worthwhile and makes me really grateful and proud to be a member who is on the staff.
I still only half feel like staff, cuz I think they're super special people and I think I'm pretty ordinary fer an ole grandma. Feels like they do with ease that which I attempt with the greatest of difficulty. Who knows, maybe they think they're ordinary too.
At any rate I said I was gonna try my best to do this Mod thang...so, Beware the GrammyBear, Muahahaha, cuz I'm not goin anywhere.

Grammy hun I have read this twice to take it all in and so agree with you the good make up for the bad
You are not going anywhere lol Yes sometimes people leave the chat room when staff go in but then those I think have the mind to misbehave so dont let it worry you Some of staff have been doing this for a long time and you are one of the best staff we could have You are funny lovable kind and yes I know I have asked this before Adopt me  Luv Pier |
