I lay awake in bed
Thinking of the day that has just ended
I try to control my mind
To stop what its saying
But I cant
The tears begin to flow
Each tear feeling lighter than the last
Every drop of blood falling faster than before
My heart is crying out in pain
Screaming and yelling inside
But i cant say a word
The wounds on my body ache
But thats the best part about it
Remembering how to feel again
After turning so numb
To be part of life again
My heart, you see, is no longer a part of my body
And the empty spot must be refilled
I cant no longer live like this
Not the way that you live
I close my eyes hoping to dream of happy times
Instead i see the falling bombs
The blasting guns
And once again I remember
I open my eyes
Afraid to sleep again
Another sleepless night
And another terrifying day ahead
My broken heart
Is now unmendable
It falls to the cold ground in pecies
Right where you began to break it the first time
