Best thing in my opinion is to try your very best not to dwell on "what might have been"s because they serve no purpose save to keep you depressed and feeling hopeless. It can be like a poison.
Try to accept that whatever didn't work/went wrong/ended, etc could have been fate/kharma letting you know you were done. You've lived through and learned from it. Forgive yourself and them for whatever bad there was and remember the good times. It's just possible you've gained all you could from that relationship so now it's time to move down a different path.
Try distracting yourself doing things that occupy your mind. Reading, crosswords, whatever you've enjoyed in the past. Visit with friends and family or make some new friends, but remember to talk about whatever you can have a sense of humor about. Life is what you're living daily so may as well not waste it with any painful past if you can avoid it. Even if you don't exactly feel like seeking joy at the moment, you could accidentally trip over some distracting yourself from pain.
Good luck, I hope you heal quickly, and remember hope is there even if you've misplaced it.
