Ok, being a big sim fanatic, I "tried" this game, and here is my take on it. *Side note: This is purely a personal opinion based on my own gaming preferrences, so with that in mind..."

The Movies:
A fresh idea in the "virtual life" genre, Instead of taking the role of a family, or the mayor of a large city, or the warden of a prison, you take the chair of the CEO of a Film studio. As good of an idea as this sounds to be, the fact is, it's done with a poor representation. The story (can i really call it that?) leaves seasoned players wondering when the other disc will pop out of the box, and newcomers to the genre scratching their heads in confusion. The gameplay seems a lot like the older versions of Sim City, with better graphics and scaling. The interface, In a word? Bugged! And if that's not enough to turn you off, the glitched gameplay surely will. Though I'm sure these will be fixed in a future update. *Please note the blatantly obvious sarcasm in that sentence.*

Conclusion:
The Movies is barely worthy as a freeware demo, much less a commercially marketed game. While the idea is very enticing, and the marketing execs did a great job of selling the product, the company should have spent a bit more time in development. Not worth the money.
