I could list a thousand different reasons why I prefer firefox to IE, but for the sake of not boring you to death, I'll keep it simple.
1.) Like Jonathan said, firefox is far more stable.
2.) Firefox uses Valid W3 HTML, as opposed to the degraded microsoft version of it.
3.) It is far less susceptible to spyware control and targetting
4.) The plugins feature does away with the widely insecure activeX scripts and controls.
5.) Less security flaws.
6.) Last but not least, IT WORKS!
